§ 30-8. Organization.

(a)

The mayor is hereby designated as the emergency management director of the town, pursuant to V.T.C.A., Government Code ch. 418, as amended. The emergency management director serves as the governor's designated agent in the administration and supervision of the duties outlined in V.T.C.A., Government Code ch. 418, on behalf of the town.

(b)

The emergency management director may designate a person to serve as emergency management coordinator who shall serve as an assistant to the emergency management director for emergency management purposes. By the ordinance codified in this chapter, the emergency management director designates the town's emergency management coordinator, who may be hired by and shall report to the Chief of the Little Elm Fire Department, as the emergency management coordinator referred to in V.T.C.A., Government Code ch. 418.

(c)

The office of emergency management shall be directed by the town's emergency management coordinator, who shall serve as the primary point of contact for emergency management on behalf of the town.
