§ 30-1. Purpose and declaration policy.

The purpose of this chapter is to provide the necessary organization, powers, and authority to provide the timely and effective use of all town resources to prepare for, respond to and recover from disasters and or emergencies, natural or manmade, that are likely to affect the health, security, safety, welfare or property of the town and its residents, whether the events occur within or without the corporate limits of the town. This chapter is enacted to provide the town, its officers and employees, with the broadest power permitted by the town's Code of Ordinances, the town's Charter, and state and federal law to plan for and respond to disasters and or emergencies.
